And she is worshipped in various forms, moods, and colors:

As a young girl, in the form of Bala Tripura Sundari

As an eternal virgin, Kanya Kumari

As a householder, Goddess Parvati

As a sovereign queen, Sri Rajarajeshwari Maha Bhattarika

And even as a widow, in the fierce form of Dhoomavati


This worship of the feminine is not just a tradition; it is the very foundation of Hindu society’s existence.

In the mother, the family is centered.

Tell me, in which other religion do women serve as spiritual preceptors?
Where else in the world do women, with complete freedom, chant sacred scriptures in every corner of the land?
Where else is there a grand festival like Navaratri, where only the names of goddesses echo in the skies?

Nowhere.

These are treasures that belong only to this sacred land.

In truth, the concept of Dharma and Divinity in Kerala is a model for a world that today speaks of fighting caste discrimination, opposing the oppression of women, and promoting female empowerment.

In Kerala, the guardian deity of all Hindus—whether Pulayar, Nair, or Ezhava—is a Goddess.

Her skin is dark.
She is semi-nude—but let this not be misunderstood.
Nudity is not sexual; it is motherhood, it is divinity.

She does not bow her head in fear before her enemies.

She is the warrior who beheads the enemy with her sword, drinks their blood, and lets out a fierce roar of triumph.
With her anklets ringing, she dances in ecstasy on the battlefield.

She is not helpless.
She is invincible.

She is the protector of this great lineage—the Kuladevi, the clan goddess.

As our Gurus have said:

ഈ സ്ത്രീ ആരാധന തന്നെയാണ് ഹിന്ദു സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ നിലനിൽപ്പും….

അമ്മയിലാണ് അവന്റെ കുടുംബം കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നിൽക്കുന്നത്….

ലോകത്ത് മറ്റേത് മതത്തിലുണ്ട് സ്ത്രീ ആത്മീയചാര്യമാർ…??
