The human body is made from the five great elements (Pancha Bhootas): earth, water, fire, air, and space. Everything dissolves into space, which pervades all, and is born again from it. The wise, through the power of austerity and mantra, know all this.

The body, formed from the Pancha Bhootas, arises along with the three gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas), and dissolves back into the same elements. From space comes air, from air arises fire, from fire comes water, and from water, earth is formed.

The five qualities — sound, touch, form, taste, and smell — belong to the element earth. When these qualities are abandoned, life ceases; when these qualities are received, life is born. Therefore, yogis who wish to transcend time must reflect upon these five qualities.

The Yogi should sit comfortably in Sukhasana (a meditative pose), practice pranayama (breath control), and engage in yoga sadhana. In the silence of the night, when everyone is asleep, one should perform yogic practices in darkness.

Close your ears using your index fingers (a yogic technique). Then, the sound arising from within — from the fire element — can be heard. Through this, one can be freed from diseases.

The yogi must progress from subtle to even subtler levels. Sleep and laziness are enemies on this path. A practitioner of yoga will always have good health.

The seed of all mantras is Omkara (Om). Those who realize the Supreme Truth attain liberation from death.

There are nine types of sound:

1. Ghosha (resonance) – the first sound to appear, which brings inner purity and helps destroy disease.


2. Kamsya (metallic ring) – halts the movement of living beings.


3. Shringa (horn sound) – destroys enemies and is linked to abhichara karmas (rituals of power or control).


4. Ghanta (bell) – chanted by Lord Parameshwara and is most sacred, drawing everyone toward it.


5. Veena (stringed instrument) – when heard by yogis, grants them visions of faraway places.


6. Vamsha Naadam (flute sound) – grants realization of divine truth to yogis.


7. Dundubhi (drum) – removes aging and death.


8. Shankha (conch) – grants the power to assume different forms at will.


9. Megha Garjanam (thunder) – never brings harm to yogis.



Those who meditate on Shabda Brahma — the divine form of sound — with full concentration, will find nothing impossible for them.
