Druva Charitham

Druvan is a son of uthamapada. His mother is Suneethi. She is the second wife of Uthamapada.
First wife is Suruchi. Her son is Uthaman.

The King Uthanapada, loved only Suruchi.
Suneethi felt dejected.

One day her son Druva wanted to sit on his fathers lap. But Suruchi and Uthanapada dejected.

Druva felt dejected. He told to his mother Suneethi. Suneethi told , ones karmaphala becomes his bhagya heena. Only Bhagavath bhakthi cure it.

Druva left the City and got into a Vanam.

Narada was pleased with Druvas faith in Vishnu.

Narada adviced Druva to do thapas. He gave ideas that is candid.

Druva lived eating only fruits for one month.
One month he lived eating leaves.
One month he lived drinking only water.
One month he lived only breathing air.
One month he even stopped breathing.

All three worlds became breathless. All started suffocating. Soon Vishnu appeared in front of Druva. Druvas eyes were closed. With vishnus counch  he touched Druvas chicks. Druva opened eyes, with bakthi he was enchanted.

Vishnu asked Druva, Hey my uthama bhaktha! What boon do you want?

The child Druva who was only five years old, simply stood stun. GOD told, “May you rule the entire lokam as many years you want, and reach Druva lokam and live there forever.”
And God disppeared.

As said by God Vishnu. Druva ruled entire prithviloka for 2600 years and reached Druva loka which 300 yojana away from Bhrama loka or Sathya loka.

Druva did rajya abhishekam to Uthama his brother, before leaving to Druva loka.

Uthama was annexed by Yakshas. Uthama didn’t fight back, he remained with great kshama. Seein his kshama Yasksa asked what boon do you want. Uthama said , i want nothing but same bhakthi to Vishnu.

Yaksha felt happy and went away.

God who is so dayalu , when worshipped, gives everything.

This is Druva charitham.

God Vishu himself is incarnated as Druva.
For there was a need of northpole star to show directions for ship sailors along oceans.

Namaste to you God.
