Jnana vigjana yoga


7th Chapter is a turning point in the format of Gita teaching.

First6 chapter indicates-
jeeva swaroopam,
jeeva prayathna,
Karma yoga.

Jeeva swaroopam– Changeless consciousness is true nature of jeeva. 2nd3rd4th5thand6th chapter we learn this.

Jeeva prayathna– Pitfall is tendency to become fatal due to problems [we are puppets].
First 6 chapters say
Warning is that you should never take to this pitfall, you have got control of your future. You can take charge of your life. This is Jeeva prayathna. Purusha Prayathna, assertion of true will.

Karma yoga-  Important spiritual sadana for spiritual goal. This is also seen upto end of 6th chapter.

From7th chapter onwards Krishna focus on 3 factors.

1.Eeswara swaroopam
2.Eeswara anugraha
3. Eeswara dhyanam

7th chapter up to 12th chapter these three factors are said by Krishna.

After 12th chapter, Upasana of God in particular form is said by Krishna.

7th Chapter starts here

Nature of God and Knowledge of the nature of God is divided into two:-

1. Jyanam
Jyanam is saguna Eeswara jnanam
2. Vijnanam
Vijnanam nirguna Eeswara jyanam

Arjuna is given both by Krishna.

This is- 1st to 3rd verse
Jyanam and Vijnanam are:-
1. Rare and valueble knowledge.
2. Liberation knowledge.
3.Emotional and intellectual fulfilment.

4 to 12th verse
Main factor-
Eswara swaroopam.

What is Eswara?

That principle(Eeswara) , consist of two factors paraprakrithi and aparaprakrithi.

Spirit principle and matter principle.

Spirit means consciousness principle.

Comon feature of spirit and matter:-
1. Both are beginning less.
2. Both can not be created.
3. Both are not creatable.

Aadi chaithanya thathvam-spirit

Anadi chaithanya thathvam- matter

Anadhi Eeswara=
Aadi chaithanya thathvam+Anadi chaithanya thathvam

Anadhi Eeswara=
Paraprakrithi +Aparaprakrithi.

This Eeswara mixture , is the
1. Cause of entire universe.
2. Evolved as universe,
3. Manifest as universe.
Not a person.

God is Jagath upadana Karanam.
God is Sristi sthithi laya.


Corolaries

If God is cause and world is effect, there is no world separate from God.

Gold is cause, ornaments is effect.

Ice, water and steam are H2O.
Avastha- solid , liquid, gaseous.

Don’t look down upon world.

World is itself a avathara of God. Easily available for, all.
Viswaroopam avathara is God’s Avathara.

If , when you look at this world as God, this world is a divine world.

Eye , Ear, nose, all opens to God.
Sarvam Eeswaramayam Jagath.

If world is God’s,  Manifestation of God,
it has para and apara prakruthi.

Matter, body, mind etc. are Aparaprakrithi

Mind is suttle matter.
So psychatrist gives chemical medicine.

Searcher, I , experiencer, of body and mind, consciousness principle, is para prakriti.

Before creation- paramathma
After creation-
jeevathma

This is Eswara swaroopam.
4th to 12th verses.

Now, 13th to 19th.

Samsara karanam…
Human anxiety and fear….
Cause of samsara- when Aparaprakrithi and Paraprakrithi are available we are pre occupied with Aparaprakrithi, for our fulfillment.

Problem is matter is changing so it never remains steadily. Fluctuating. Ideal conditions don’t come. With some punya you get but not retain.

Working for you …
Working for co ….

Expecting Aparaprakrithi is Samsara. Not permanent.

Can be used only for fun and appreciation.

Only paraprakrithi is permanent.

Don’t throw the apara prakruthi, don’t hate it, for sport.  Paraprakrithi is there for fulfilment and security.

Aparaprakrithi, use it. But don’t use for security.

Surrender to me. Bakthi is remedy.

11th verse, asserts-
Bakti Karma Raja etc..
Samanvaya nothing is controversy.

Bakthi is a series of sadana which has to culminate in Jnanam.

What are the range and series of sadanas of Bakthi,  later in 12th chapter.

Baktha has to go through various stages and get jnanam, then he is true Baktha.

Arthi, artharthi, jignasu all are incomplete baktas.

5 levels of Baktha are there for jyani Baktha knows paraprakrithi.

Baktha has long journey, has start somewhere.

Arthi Baktha prays only in crisis.
Artharthi prays for money.

20 to 26 Verse

Deals with two forms of bakthi basted on motive-
1. Sakama bakthi and
2. Nishkama bakthi.

Initially sakama bakthi is required, only after sakama you can become nishkama baktha.

Sakama bakthi is incomple without nishkama bakthi.

20th Upto 26th
sakama bakthi.

We seek Aparaprakrithi/ material benifit  this is  sakama bakthi.

Dharm arth kam moksha. These are the goals of Nishkama bakthi.

Sakama bakthi is not sinful. Always valid. Fruitful. If done properly, without obstacles. Bright side.

Dark side, you can never permanently hold on to it. Even if it leaves or not we fear, not enjoy.sense of fear of loss.

Nishkama bakthi 27 to End

Paraprakriti accomplishment.

By- product and inner growth.

Jara, marana , moksha- Go beyond time.

This is Paraprakrithi.

Moksha is Paraprakrithi.

Nishkama bakthi does both saguna and nirguna bakthi.

He leads to Moksha. He gets total eeaswara Jnanam.

Set of new technical words-

Karma, dharma, adidharmam, adiyagnam,
Adyathmam , Adidaivam.

These are para apara bakthi.
