Raja Vidya, Raja Guhya Yogam

The 9th chapter is very similar to 7th and different to 8th

8th Chapter saguna Eeswara upasanam is explained.
God with attributes.
Liberation in indirect manner, called Krama mukthi.In 8th chapter, through out the life, a person does saguna Eeswara upasanam.
We know, it directly do not lead to liberation. He travels after death and goes to Bhrama loka. We come to know this through scriptures. He gets nirguna Jnanam in Bhrahma loka and gets liberation . shravana, manana nidhidyasanam is got in Bhrahma loka from Bhrama himself.
In manushyaloka this person does not come to Jnanam yoga.

9th chapter:-
Krishna wants us to enjoy liberation in this janma. Sadyonmukthi is priscribed by Krishna, liberation in ihaloka.
We have to practice saguna upasanam. After getting Yogyatha, we get liberation in this loka itself.

Nirguna Nature of God is said in Upanishads by Krishna. Studying this nirguna Eeswara is Jnana yoga.

Knowledge of higher nature of God- Nirguna Nature,paraprakrithi.
Knowledge of lower nature of God- saguna natureAparaprakrithi.

Sadyonmukthi is explained here. Nirguna Eeswara jyanam. It is extremely difficult, man thinks. Krishna says it is easiest. Once you practice it, it is easy. Saguna Eswara upasanam is taught in 9th chapter. Then Nirguna Eeswara Jnanam.Then Liberation.

First 2 verses say-
Introduction. Subject matter of this chapter. Eeswara jyanam. Higher nature, paraprakrithi, nirguna Eeswara jyanam.

This is the ‘Secret for unprepared mind’- Raja Guhyam.
Since this knowledge alone is ‘liberation knowledge’- Raja Vidya.

First three verses:-

Qualifications for Raja Vidya, Raja Guhyam, is Shradha. That is – Don’t reject the teaching and teacher.
If you reject reaching, loser is not teaching or rishis, but you. You should have a open mind.

4th to 10th verse:-

Swaroopam of Real God is said. Nirguna Eeswara is called Bhrahma in Upanishads.
Bhrama swaroopam.

Every thing that is said in Upanishads which is said in Gita.

The real I, the real God is all pervading. He does not have location.kailasa, vaikuntha etc. kailasa,vaikuntha are Inferior forms for biginners in spirituality.
Without nirguna it is incomple.

-I am Sarvagathaha.
-Avyathaha, aham.

Seeing God with eyes, we don’t dismiss the darshanam, but Aparaprakrithi of God you have seen.

Paraprakrithi is Avyaktha.

Echa jagath, vignyanam. Unreal. Dream world is unreal, from the standpoint of the paraprakrithi.

Lord is the substratum of entire Jagath.
Mythia Jagath Adhishtana.

Even if God is Substratum, it is not sullied by impurities. Therefore God is compared to Akasha. Space. Asanka Prakrithaha.

Fifth features is Eeswara Srishti, Sthithi Karanaha.

Eeswara is creater , he is also Kartha. Bhoka also. Have punyam and papam.

He says like a light, I am not responsible for the activities that you do.

Corolaries … Lord is is Sakshi, not doership or endoership.

Highter nature of Lord is said in 1to10 verses

11th Verse:-

Question. What is reason of Samsara?
Answer. Agjnanam.
Paraprakrithi agjnanam.
Nirguna Bhrahma is alone – time and space.
Saguna Bhrama comes under Aparaprakrithi comes within time and space.
It cannot give you security.

Harathi nimesha kala sarvam.

If I don’t know paraprakrithi, I will seek security, peace, happiness, etc. In Aparaprakrithi.

When I hold on Aparaprakrithi, it disappears on our nose.

Wrong exeptation is reason of sorrow.

11th to19th verse:-

Bakthi is remedy. Bakthi is not a sadana,it is a series of sadanas of Jnanam. Problem is agjnanam. Knowledge is cure.

If darkness is problem, light a lamp, not meditation or japa.
Jnanam is solution. Series of bakthi sadana.

3 levels sadana based

1.Karma roopa bakthi
2.Upasana roopa bakthi
3. Vedantha vichara roopa bakthi

1Convert every karma to bakthi.
2Turn inward – upasana roopam.

Antharmugha samaradya, Bahirmugha sudurlabha.

3Vedantha vichara roopa bakthi is shravanam, mananam, nidhidyasanam-Jnanam Yagnya.
Superior to all Yagnya.

He who follows these 3 levels, becomes jnani Baktha, Paraprakrithi Baktha.

Bakthi consist of all types of karma. Then he becomes jnani. Then he is liberated.

Do enough punyam to become a Baktha. Moha will go away.

20 to 29 verses:-

Two forms of bakthi, based on motives, bhavana based

Sakama bakthi – motive
Nishkama bakthi – bhavana

Election. Uses bakthi for darmartha kama.

Even Sakama Bakthi is good, because it is not a fault. Snake and lader, continue to climb, come down, again climb…and so on..

Nishkama knows paraprakrithi can give happiness. Oh lord make my mind ok for Bhrahma Jnanam. It is the only prayer, bhavana.

Mother gives the appropriate food to children. Idealy suited for child’s growth. God give me chithashudhi. Asking for this… is nishkama bakthi. Asking God for anything is nishkama bakthi.

Sakama Bakthi is very very difficult to practice.
Has rules and regulations.
Time of prayer, neivedyam, dakshina, prayachitha.

Nishkama Bakthi is easy to practice.

Krishna excepts all intelligent bakthas to do nishkama bakthi.

30 to 34 verses:-

This , glorifys bakthi.
Several levels.
Like ladder. Lakshana…

Karma yoga- sakama karma,
Guilt leads to diffident . Not confident . Spiritual sadana is impossible if guilt is there.

Guilt is obstacle of confidence.
Disadvantage -people cant be a Baktha and get liberation due to lack of confidence.

1. Learn to love me atleat to the sake of worldly goal.

2. Keep me as goal.

3. Never forget goal.
Manmana bava.

4. Convert your life into worship.

5. Be Humble.

With this 5, you are my Baktha, and will attain me.
