All are important.

13th is important in phylosophical angle…

1st verse by Arjuna,

Asthma, anathma & Jnanam is explained in-

2nd verse to 24 verse.

ANATHMA

Anathma=khethram=prakruthi

Krishna says, whatever I experience in front of me, drishya padartha comes under anathma.

Entire universe , object of experience, is called anathma.

Even heavens comes under anathma.

Objectifiable world is anathma.

Body conditions are experiencing so comes under anathma.
Mind is experiencing so comes under anathma. Intellectual thing is also anathma.

Anathma-Nature is acherhana swaroopam jadam, matter.

World+Body+Mind = anathma.

Analize nature of anathma-
Achetana, jadam, material in nature. Inert in nature.

Sencioncy of body is not natural but borrowed. So at death become insenciant.

Feature1.Body is natural achetana.
Mind is material, made of suttle matter. So anathma.

Feature2. Anathma is full of attributes. Achetanam, saguna. Subject to contstant fluctuating.modifing. One moment to other every thing is achetanam. Changing nature. Not visible all time. Savikaram.
Because of changing nature, it’s one form is Karana avastha. Vyaktha Prapanchaha.

1 . Manifest condition
[vyaktha] Prapanchaha, universe
2. Unmanifest condition [Avyaktha] maya
Anathma – 2 things
Anathma-achethana, Saguna savikaram.

AATHMA:-

Athma – 3 things

Purusha=khethrajna = jneya= Athma
1. If the old universe fall under old experience, presupposes an experiencable subject.

This subject can never become an object.

If I see different forms and colours , persecption of every form and colours, eyes see, but eye can’t perceive.

All experienced object proves experiencer.

Experiencer principle is Athma.

2. Since, Athma is un objectifiable experiencer, experiencing principle. subject, is it chethana or achetana? It is chethana. Drick is chethana thathvam. Consciousness principle.

3. Who is experiencing world?
Athma is I, consciousness principle, Which objectifies everything but not available for objectification.

Features of Athma thathvam. 5 features.

Feature 1. I the consciousness am not part, product, property.
Feature 2. I the consciousness am independent , perveded and enliven inert body, like electricity in fan.
Feature 3. I the consciousness am Not limited by boundry of body. I am All pervading.

Sanskrit, Athma comes from
Sarvathra appnothi ithi Athma.

Four routes- All pervading.

Feature 4.I the consiosness principle, Will continue to exist even if body dies , I survive , I am immortal. Nithyaha. Sarvagathaha.

Feature 5. If the body medium dies, I the consiosness will continue to survive, not available for transaction.
Not because I am not there…

Because body is not there. Like in sleep. I survive. Athma the chethana thathvam exists.

Example of Athma in this context:-
1. Consciousness is comparable to akasa, the space. And
2. Prakasha Light.

We have to see features of this two examples:- both are ekam, one akasa, one surya-prakasha, one consiosness.

Akash is achalam.
Prakash is achalam.
Achalaloyam ..

1st feature-Every thing moves,Achanchala
Akasa don’t move,
Prakash don’t move.
Exactly, consiosness don’t move.

2nd feature- indivisible-Akanda
Athma like akasa. Prakasha, akanda.

3rd feature- uncontaminatable- Asanga is Akasha and prakasha. . Every where.

4th feature- support of matter – Sarva aadharam-All brains, is in consiosness.
When light falls in water it is not polluted.

5th feature- like light of sun illumins every thing. Sarva prakasha. All things are located in one thing. Capacity of brain to manifest anything is lost. Like prakasha, consiosness illumins every thing.

This is Athma anathma Viveka Jnanam.
I am consiosness principle.
I function as body, I am not body.

Word Jnana in 13th Chapter has a virtues of attaining Athma Jnanam. A dharmic way of life. Ethics and morality enters vedantha. Only this mind one can learn vedantha.

Jnanam-

Sadana Chathushtaya
1. Discrimination – understanding that God alone can give security and safety and peace.

2. Dispassion – changing priority, world and God… Which is predominant. World secondary means dispassion. Else, spiritual desire.

3. Desire – Spiritual upliftment.

4. Discipline- integration of physical body. Organs, mind and body. I become master of my body, integration of body.

25 to 35 verse

Jnana sadanani and sadana phalam.

Sadana

5 stages… Karma yoga, upasanam, shravanam, mananam, upasanam.

Karma yoga-mala nivrithui
Upasanam-meditation
Shravanam-under acharya vedantha shravanam, ajnana nivrithi,
Mananam– samshaya nivrithi
Nidhidyasanam– spend time and tell body, I am functioning through body . Meditation to reconditioned.

Aham Nithya chaithanya roopa asmi.

Phalam

Benifit of knowledge’, sarvathra samadharsham.

Anathma pradana to Athma pradana.

I got Gold darshan in all ornaments.

Freedom from Raga and Dwesha.

Amrita thathva prapthi.

I caim I am immortal.

As water it doesn’t die.

Akarthithva, abhokthatva prapthi. Matter is interacting, I illumin everything but I don’t die.

Aham Bhrahma asmi. Bhrama prapthi.

In simple language Jeevan mukthi.

Gain this knowledge, that bring difference in your life.

Liberation.
